Collaboration and MediationNot all divorces need to end up in court. Our family law team are qualified experts in collaborative law and mediation two processes which encourage dialogue rather than dispute. Collaborative LawCollaborative Law is a new way for divorcing or separating couples to fully participate and take control of their own separation by attending a series of meetings, assisted by trained professionals, aimed at resolving all issues without going to court. Frequently described as "the good divorce" the key features are:-
At its best Collaborative Law is a respectful conversation between the legal advisers and clients and a seamless and creative alternative to the more traditional, "lawyers at 20 paces" approach. Kirstie Law is one of the most experienced collaborative practitioners in the South East. She recognises that the experience of separation or family breakdown has a far deeper impact than the strictly 'legal' approach can address and she is convinced that Collaborative Law is the future for the way divorce and separation is conducted. For more information about Collaborative Law please click here to visit our dedicated website. MediationMediation is a confidential, voluntary process in which a neutral third party, the mediator, helps to discuss and negotiate all issues surrounding divorce or separation. The parties agree to attend mediation sessions with a trained mediator who guides the parties towards a solution to suit them. Like Collaborative Law, to be successful the mediation process requires cooperation and a willingness to find a solution. Amanda Andrews is a qualified and experienced mediator who can work with you to find an acceptable solution to your separation arrangements.
