Issues involving children

Disputes involving children are often highly emotive. Our expert family law team provides pragmatic and constructive advice to achieve the best outcome for children and parents. We recognise that the interests of children are paramount and we always work to protect them from conflict and with the future in mind.

The law relating to children can be confusing and we try to make matters as clear and straightforward as possible for you. We have experience of working with a wide range of clients both in the UK and abroad and can offer advice and representation in all areas of children law including:

  • Parental responsibility
  • Residence - we have particular expertise in shared residence cases
  • Contact - acting for both fathers, mothers and grandparents
  • Prohibited Steps orders - including requests for permission to move abroad
  • Specific Issue orders - including in relation to selection of a school or medical treatment

Whenever possible we try to resolve disputes involving children without applying to the court, for example, through collaboration or mediation. If proceeding to court is unavoidable, we have the knowledge and experience to guide you every step of the way.
